Smiling happily you walked over to your desk and sat down.


‘Hope Summers.’ Mr Flare said and you watched your classmate walk up and take the last folder. ‘Okay everyone open your folders!’

You slowly opened your folder and started the read the letter inside.

Privet! (Hello!)

My name is Ivan Braginsky. I’m 18 living in Moscow, Russia. I like looking at sunflowers, making friends and drinking vodka da? I have two sisters. Natalya Arlovskaya is my little sister and Yekaterina Braginskaya is my older sister. Are you a girl or boy? Do you have siblings? What are your hobbies?

You look at the letter confused as Ivan and his sisters have different last names. Suddenly Jason nudged you.

‘What is it Jason?’ you asked him.

‘Who did you get?’ he asked.

‘Some dude from Russia named Ivan.  What about you?’ you asked.

‘Some Polish dude named Feliks’ he replied with a small laugh.

‘Let me read.’ You said and grabbed the letter.

Dear the, like totally awesome person who gets this,

My name is like totally Feliks Łukasiewicz. I love the colour pink especially a hot hipster pink! My hobbies include being with like my best friend Toris, going shopping and talking with my pony friend!

As you finished reading the letter you started to laugh.

‘This dude be weird.’ You replied. ‘Hey! Grace, Amanda!’

Both girls looked up.

‘What is it (First Name)?’ Grace asked.

‘Who did you two get?’ Jason asked.

‘Chinese dude called Yao,’ Grace replied ‘Amanda?’

‘Italian dude called Lovino’ Amanda said.

You grinned and Jason laughed.

‘(Hated Nick Name) you look weird’ Jason said.

You sent him a death glare and stomped on his foot under the table.

‘Owww!’ Jason exclaimed.

‘Guys! Stop we should start writing our replies’ Amanda said.

‘She is right’ Grace said and you nodded.

Taking a piece of paper out of your English book you started writing a reply to Ivan, including a question about his sisters and their last names.


‘Hand in your letters please class.’ Mr Flare called and you sighed.

Packing up your things, you got up and walked over to him. Handing him your letter you waited for Grace, Amanda and Jason.

Walking out of the classroom the four of you heded down the hall.

‘Oh! Who is up for a sleepover at my house?’ Grace asked.

‘Oh! I’m in!’ You replied.

‘I’ll come.’ Amanda said with a nod.

‘As long as I don’t get picked on by you lot.’ Jason said with a laugh before getting hit by Grace, Amanda and you. ‘I was joking!’

Shaking your head you laughed.
